From the very beginning, I knew one thing for sure—if I was going to take this leap, it had to feel like me. I’d seen what “successful” firms were supposed to look like, but I didn’t want to follow someone else’s formula. I wanted to build something that reflected what mattered to me—something grounded in heart, in culture, and in doing things differently. Something that just felt right.

So we jumped. What started with five of us, a borrowed office space, no server, and a whole lot of heart quickly became something real. We were scrappy, figuring it out as we went—assembling desks while submitting reports, learning payroll, setting up systems on the fly. And it worked!

In just six years, we’ve completed hundreds of projects, built our headquarters adorned with surf murals in Scottsdale, and started a scholarship program for high school students awarding 30 students to date.

We launched a nonprofit—Lōkahi Teams—to support youth athletes and their families, and have since given back nearly $100,000 through scholarships, gear, and community events. One of our biggest highlights? Hosting a four-day carnival that brought thousands together in celebration, with the support of the Mayor, City Council, and amazing community sponsors.

We also created a quiet retreat in the woods—Lōkahi Pines—as a place for rest and reconnection. And right inside our HQ, my son launched Lōkahi Co., an apparel brand that reflects the heart and spirit of all we’ve built.

Along the way, we've been honored with awards like Most Influential Women, People to Know, Most Admired Leaders, Small Business of the Year, and Coolest Office. But what means the most to me?
We’ve built something that feels like home.

That’s what this space is all about too.

Not a polished blueprint. Not a perfectly packaged success story. Just the real journey—ups, downs, and all the lessons in between.

My hope is that it gives you the courage to listen to that quiet pull inside you. To follow what feels right. To build a life and career that feels like you.

Because your uniqueness? That’s your magic.
And the world is waiting for it.

With a nudge (okay, a big push) from mentors, friends, and family, I took the leap and started my own company—Lōkahi (the Hawaiian word for unity and teamwork).

Aloha, I’m Jamie. For over 20 years, I worked my way through the world of engineering—climbing the ladder, chasing stability, and trying to do everything the “right” way. And for a long time, it worked.

(In the summer of 2019,
my world shifted.)
